Riu Palace Boavista - All Inclusive

Reception was fantastic we were greeted and upgraded to a pool villa fantastic start. Pool villa was fantastic it gives you a choice to be alone, and they are well set up. The pools and bars are all superb. The theatre was good. The food was amazing, both buffet and speciality. The staff are all friendly and cannot do enough. It is our favourite Riu alongside riu palace aruba. Well done and thank you to Riu Palace Boa Vista.

RIU Palace Boavista has been one of the best hotels we have stayed at! The staff were very friendly, they couldnt do enough for us - this really made our stay at the hotel! Clean rooms with a comfy bed, fab entertainment with themed nights, good food options - we have really loved every minute of our stay here! Thank you to all of the staff at Palace Boavista!

Had a great stay in this hotel. Lovely clean hotel in a great location near the beach. Good choice of food in restaurants. But what really made our holiday was the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and always done with a smile. Will definitely be returning

Stayed in a swim up room on the sunny side - spacious, cleaned every day, well serviced with drinks, lovely furnished terrace leading to pool. Nice long sandy beach next to main pools with plenty of sun beds in both areas. Plenty of places to eat and drink - food excellent and varied. Bonus - great water park suitable for adults and children of all ages. The staff are friendly and helpfull with an outstanding entertainment team. All in all, a great fortnights holiday.

We stayed at the Riu in February 2025. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are immaculate and all the staff from the restaurant / bar staff to the groundsmen were extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel was brilliant. The major downfall we had was we visited with our young sons (3yo & 6yo). The main reason we booked this hotel was due to the slide pool as all our sons wanted was to play on the slides all day in the sun. The weather was brilliant, the slide pool however was EXTREMELY cold. The boys just couldnt stay in it for longer that 5 minutes. All the other pools were a really nice temperature so it was unusual that the slide pool was so cold. The holiday would have been completely different if our sons could enjoy this pool, big shame

We loved this hotel and had a great time there when we went for a week of winter sun at the end of January. I had one little complaint but otherwise everything was great and we would highly recommend this hotel. So lets get the one complaint out the way first. As an all-inclusive hotel there was little spending required but there are some things that need to be paid for. All prices are in Euros and I was aware that we had to pay a local tourist tax for every night we stayed there. This we were charged for on arrival and in preparation had put Euros on my currency card to cover the cost. What I hadn’t realised (and wasn’t told at the desk when paying) was that if paid on a card the charge is raised in Cape Verde Escudo. Just be aware in case your card provider charges you extra for currency conversion. We know for next time to take Euro currency with us for payments such as this and things such as treatments in the spa and not to use a credit or pre-paid currency card. The hotel position near the airport is great and it was the quickest transfer we have ever had yet for the rest of the holiday we didn’t hear or get disturbed by being so close to the airport. Check-in was smooth and we were soon in our room which was spacious and clean with a great view over the hotel complex and out to sea. Everywhere was clean and the grounds are very well kept with gardeners constantly keeping everything neat and tidy. Because of this it is a lovely hotel to walk around and there is easy access to the beach. We walked along the beach in both directions (I would say around 2miles each way) and it was just never-ending golden sand. It was a pity that you can’t swim in the sea but when you see the sea breaking on the rocks you understand why the red flag was up every day we were there. There was always lots of choice in the restaurants and the food quality was very good. We often had lunch in the restaurant by the pool and while the choice there wasn’t as large as the main restaurant there was still lots to choose from. I would say the best quality and selection at a pool snack bar/restaurant I’ve seen at any of the all-inclusive hotels we have stayed in. The drinks at the hotel are reasonable, there are some bottles are marked up as known brands and available if asked for but we found the quality of unbranded drinks to be on a par with the branded ones. We never had a problem getting served at the bars and I think there was only once we had to ask in a restaurant for a top-up of our glasses, usually the waiting staff were there with a top-up before you asked. All the time we were at the hotel there was strong breeze but the temperatures would have been unbearable for us if it hadn’t been there. A couple of days we tried sitting on our balcony which was protected from the breeze and within an hour we needed to get out the sun and get some shade. Finding sunbeds around the pools was never a problem, there was always plenty to choose from, but o
